Strobilanthes kunthiana, commonly known as Neelakurinji, is a remarkable plant found in the shola grasslands of the Western Ghats in India. This plant's gregarious blooming cycle makes it unique, occurring once every 12 years. During this rare event, the entire mountainscape is blanketed in vibrant blue blossoms, which inspired the name "Nilgiris," meaning "Blue Mountains."
